FMF Volunteer Adam speaks about Suiting Up Swing Style
May 26th – Suit up Swing Style and work #TheLindyLook
I only started dancing about two years ago but it has slowly taken over my life – going from attending classes once a week to now dancing at least three times weekly, and it’s often more. As swing dancing has given me so much in those two years I have been keen to give back and volunteering for the Frankie Manning Foundation is one of the ways I have been able to do this.
I’m incredibly happy to be involved in the upcoming celebrations for Frankie Month – what would have been Frankie’s 101st birthday. We’d like as many people as possible to share in these celebrations and this is where we want you to join in by working #TheLindyLook on the 26th of May.
Don your favourite swing threads that best capture the spirit of the Savoy Ballroom in its 1920-50s pomp. Have your photo taken at work, in your office, at your desk, at a cafe, on the street or wherever you may go. Be creative!
Share your photos on social media with the hashtag #TheLindyLook and photos shared on most social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram will automatically be collated as part of #TheLindyLook tag board. Share your #TheLindyLook photos on Facebook too on the Frankie Manning Foundation page.
And if you’re up for an extra fancy challenge? Why not dress the part for the entire Frankie Month, May 1st to 31st, and share a photo each day!
Ah one, ah two, you know what to do!
